Jeremy Burns is an artist and art tutor based in London. His artwork comprises mostly of colourful abstract oil paintings that draw influences from Cubism and it’s various offshoots. There is an element of ambiguity to the work where structures often seem to emerge and dissolve, creating a sense of movement, tension and release.
As a musician/composer, there is also a strong musical connection to the work. A similar process of trial, error and discovery is used to create both his musical compositions and his paintings. The enjoyment and struggle of making sounds or marks and exploring how the different parts can fit together is what continually motivates him.
For over 11 years Jeremy has been teaching observational drawing and painting to all ages and skill levels, and very much uses his observational studies to inform his abstract art.
